Sabang name allegedly departed from the many volcanoes in Sabang which traces can be seen in hot water attractions Jaboi. Currently tourism is no longer leaving the hot water. But, the remnants of sulfur in there reinforces that there was once a volcano there.
Weh island or Sabang was recognized throughout the world since the beginning of the 15th century. Researchers from China Cheng Ho, stopped there in 1413-1415.
